Craft and Structure questions test words in context, text structure and purpose, and connections between two texts. They are about 28% of SAT Reading and Writing.
Expression of Ideas
Expression of Ideas questions test transitions and rhetorical synthesis: choosing the clearest way to connect ideas or reach a writer's stated goal. They are about 20% of SAT Reading and Writing.
Standard English Conventions
Standard English Conventions questions test sentence boundaries, punctuation, verb forms, agreement and other grammar rules. They are about 26% of SAT Reading and Writing, and the rules repeat, so practice pays off quickly.
